The article discusses the current problems of the use of digital technologies and automation of the criminal process. The question of the possibility of considering the principles of criminal justice as the limits of digitalization as the guarantor of the protection of the rights of citizens, society and the state is being investigated. The conclusion is formulated and substantiated that it is premature to replace judges with artificial intelligence and the widespread adoption of digitalization without developing strategic directions for the use of digital technologies.
