The article presents a qualitative and quantitative analysis of data concerning the abilities of schoolchildren with general speech underdevelopment and without developmental disorders, who is on the 2 nd-4 thyear of study, to spell correctly and to analyze correctly the words, in which misspelling is possible, even before learning the rules. The author also describes strategies of development of the correct written language. The research allowed the author to classify schoolchildren with speech disorder as a type with weak morpheme orientation.
