To the question about the effectiveness of tourism development on the territory of the North Caucasus federal district

The study examines the development of tourism in the North Caucasus Federal district for the period from 2010 to 2017. Despite the fact that currently the development of tourism in Russia in general and in particular in a separate territory - the North Caucasus Federal district - is given great attention by the Federal authorities, the authors comes to the conclusion that the objectives of the state policy regarding the development of the tourism industry in the North Caucasus Federal district for the specified period; data on the volume of annual tourist flow in the North Caucasus Federal district are not true; data on the number of places created in the North Caucasus Federal district in collective accommodation facilities from 2010 to 2017 are inaccurate; the Government of the Russian Federation does not manage the development of the tourism industry in the North Caucasus Federal district. These conclusions are based on the consideration of four interrelated indicators, which, in the opinion of the authors should be considered in a coherent and dynamic way.
