Assessment of professional competence of university graduates

Competence-based approach serves as the most important factor determining the development of all components of the education system at the present stage of the national education development. Moreover, the Federal standards of higher education of a new generation suggest evaluating the quality of training through the competences of graduates. Therefore, there is need for evaluating the quality of vocational education to meet modern standards, that is, in terms of implementation of the competence approach. This article discusses the criteria that allow assessing the degree of development of students’ professional competencies as well as suggests the ways to organize the final control with regard to the above criteria, and based on the authors’ experience.
