Based on the analysis of the works of scientists and researchers engaged in the study of operational- search science, the article presents the results of research, in which the operational-search functions of the head of the territorial body of in-ternal affairs are studied and defined. The author comes to the conclusion that the head of the territorial body of internal affairs is a participant in operational search activities.
