To the issue of the definition of transnational organized crime

The article discusses the formation of the concept of transnational organized crime in accordance with modern social and legal terms and provisions of existing international law. The author proposes the definition of transnational organized crime, distinguishes the definitions of international and transnational crime. The article analyzes the key international documents relating to counter transnational organized crime, examines the activities of various international conferences and United Nations Congresses, aimed at the formation of the concept of organized crime. The article notes that the yield of organized crime on a transnational level is a natural result of intensive processes of globalization and internationalization in all spheres of interstate and international relations. The author determines that international crimes constitute a separate category, the specifics of which are caused, first of all, by the subjects of the crime commitment, the scale of these crimes and the number of victims, as well as the presence of a political component.
