To the issue of the basics of teaching English for special (professional) purposes

This article addresses the formation of the concept of "English for Specific Purposes" and proposes a cumulative complex definition. The main key competencies of vocational education and training in English are pointed out and described. The article covers the approaches to teaching "English for Specific purposes". The author emphasizes that the key task of the course is to develop a foreign-language professional communication competence with a complex structure. Conclusions are drawn about the prospects for the development of this area of the language education.
