On the question of providing food security in Russia in the first half of the XX century

The article examines the policy of the Soviet government aimed at ensuring food security until the 1950s.The actions of the Soviet leadership of the country to protect the population from hunger and its consequences were often politicized, and a large role of the political component was traced. Many of the decisions made were quite tough, which gave rise to even greater consequences of crop failures. The formation of state security often took place at the expense of the food security of the population.
