To the question of rap popularity in modern Russian culture from the psychoanalytic positions

The paper examines the social significance of rappers. This question is relevant for a lot of humanities. Based on the psychoanalytic method, the analysis of the phenomenon of popularity of rap in modern Russian society is carried out. In the course of the study, a rap clip is considered as a visualization of an artist’s work, providing the most complete disclosure of the semantic content of a creative work. The clip has the same mechanisms of censorship and expression of the experiences of a person, which are also characteristic of a dream. Two directions of rap creativity that are most interesting for the study are distinguished: acute social, the subject of which consciously analyzes his/her experiences, and infantile, in which the subject is closed from the analysis. A comparative analysis of clips in these directions reveals in detail the relationship of external symbols, attributes and text with the deep content of a piece of work, which meets a wide emotional response in society, in particular among young people due to the coincidence of the experiences of a performer and a listener. Rap is a way of forgetting, avoiding a neurosis or a way of solving and accepting a problem as a part of life experience.
