On the issue of reforming the forest complex of the Sakhalin region

This paper examines the problems of reforming the forest complex of the Sakhalin region. The relevance of the study is to find ways to use the resource potential of the region for subsequent investments in the region's economy. The necessity of transition of the forest complex to sustainable forest management and forest policy is justified. Possible ways to eliminate the factors that hinder the development of the forest industry in the Sakhalin region are suggested. The need to restructure the LPC has been identified. It is assumed that a new plant for the production of 300 thousand tons of cellulose will be built in the city of Poronaisk, which will allow achieving higher GRP indicators in the Sakhalin region.
