To the question of improving the mechanism of ensuring a civil action in criminal proceedings

The article is dedicated to the issues of improving the mechanism of ensuring the civil claim as a means of restoring victims' rights and legitimate interests in criminal proceedings. Special attention is paid to the seizure of property and securities of the suspect and the accused, as a means of reparations to victims. The author critically reviews bailiffs' activities on the stages of enforcement proceedings in terms of recovery of prescribed amounts from the civil defendant. Labor activity of convicts is analyzed from the point of view of their real possibilities to recover damages caused by them. The author proposes ways to improve criminal procedure legislation and law enforcement practice, by redistribution of state revenues in the field of criminal proceedings and the creation of a state victims' fund.
