To the derivation of empirical dependencies in seismology using a mechanical model

Бесплатный доступ

Empirical dependences used in seismology in estimating parameters characterizing the strength and consequences of earthquakes are discussed. The analysis of empirical dependencies allowed, on the one hand, to explain in terms of modern mechanics why reaching a critical state leads to the occurrence of destruction in the hearth in a dynamic mode rather than in a quasi-static one, and, on the other hand, to explain the nature of empirical dependencies in the same terms. At the same time, the authors base their arguments on the theoretical views of Academician S.S. Grigoryan on the problems of global geodynamics.
