The history of the shrine, created during the reign of Elizabeth, daughter of Peter I, and now stored in the State Hermitage, is well known. After the shrine seizure the relics were kept in the altar of the Trinity Cathedral in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra until they were confiscated by the rulers. In 1989 the relics were returned and placed in a pre-revolutionary reliquary, the origin of which is unclear. The article attempts to reconstruct its history.
