Which directions of economic thought and why will they dominate at the beginning of the 21st century?

The article provides a brief overview of the development of economic thought, from the classical school of political economy to institutionalism. The author pays his main attention to the analysis of the scientific institutional school of our time as the mainstream of modern economic science, both in our country and abroad. The author believes that institutionalism will be the predominant direction of economic thought at the beginning of the 21st century.
