The article presents the results of studies of the Middle Paleolithic complexes at the Darvagchai geoarchaeological area. One of them is the Darvagchay-Zaliv-4 site, on which several cultural and chronological Paleolithic complexes were found. These archaeological materials are key to understanding the development of this cultural and chronological stage in the North-Eastern Caucasus. The time of the existence of an ancient person in this region on the basis of naturalscience data is determined by the Riss- Wurm interglacial. The stone inventory is characterized by the Levallois knapping technique and the typical Middle Paleolithic cannon set. The peculiarities of the technical and typological appearance of the stone industry with pronounced Levallois features make it possible to speak about the specific appearance of the Middle Paleolithic of Dagestan.
