The Kamennomost burial ground of pre-Scythian and Scythian times on the Malka river

The article deals with a bright, original, and well-studied archeological monument of the North Caucasus. The paper describes briefly the main stages of researches of the Kamennomost burial ground of the pre-Scythian and Scythian periods. The monument is located at the confluence of the Kichmalka and Malka rivers. The authors discuss the chronology (periods of functioning) of the ancient cemetery. The peculiarities of the burial rite and inventory, as well as the main affair of the population leaving the burial ground are described. The paper analyses the issues of the relationship of the local population with the nomads of the pre-Scythian and Scythian periods. The authors consider the problems of ethno-cultural characteristics of the Kamennomost burial ground and some questions of the local toponymy.
