The Karagas (the Tofas) and sсansenological practice on actualizing their historical and cultural heritage

The article describes the principles of the territorial residing of the Karagas (the Tofas), the time changes in the number of population in accordance with the censuses, their main householding activities, infrastructure of the settlements, type of dwellings depending on the season. The information about some elements of the spiritual lives of the Karagas (the Tofas) is provided. The variants of actualization of the historical and cultural heritage of the Karagas (the Tofas) are suggested through the development of the Tofalars’ exposition in the Architectural and Ethnographic Museum «Taltsy» (Irkutsk city).
