Carotid atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, and left ventricular remodeling in men working on a rotational basis in the far north

Purpose. To estimate relationships of the atherosclerotic alterations in the walls of common carotid arteries (CCA) with the left ventricular (LV) remodeling and office blood pressure (BP) in men working on a rotational basis in the Far North.Material and Methods. The study was performed at the premises of the Healthcare Unit of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg OOO (68° N) in 2010-2012. A total of 424 men aged 30-59 years were randomly selected among people (n = 1708) who worked on a rotational basis in the Yamburg settlement (68° N) and passed a preventive medical examination.
