The Sami's worldview reflected in the month names

The article deals with the world picture of the Russian Sami reflected in the month names. The Sami folk calendar is an ideological complex, which reflects many aspects of life of the Sami ethnos at different stages of its development. It was found that the month names of the Sami who speak different dialects are different, due to the dissimilar economic and cultural characteristics, which are caused by the area of residence and traditional businesses. The author shows that such a traditional occupation as reindeer farming has influenced the Sami folk calendar to the most extent.
