"Catacomb" period in the art of early Christians

The first centuries of our era were critical for the Western world. As a result of the clash of ages, Christianity is becoming a leading religion, marking the beginning of the Middle Ages. Young religion has come a long way before becoming the spiritual foundation of European culture, which in fact is the Christian culture. This article presents the chronology of the development of art of the early Christians, displays the characteristic features of the "catacomb" art, through a series of preserved frescoes and architectural monuments.
