Categories of biometric data: legal and technical approaches

The scientific paper analyzes the current state of the definition, revealing the content of what refers to biometric data. Based on the technical and legal aspects, their features are given. Biometric data are unique physiological information of a person, which can be used to improve security, provide access to confidential information, as well as for the convenience of users, replacing traditional authentication methods. However, it is important to remember that their collection and processing must be carried out in compliance with technical regulations and data protection and privacy legislation.
