Categories of evaluation and evidentiality in ancient Russian texts of the 16th century

The article reviews semantics and syntax structures interaction, for instance meanings of evaluation and conditionality. In this context, a number of old Russian publicistic texts, such as works by Iosif Volotzky, Ivan Peresvetov is described. Sources of information about the world are called in the texts of different areas depending on the relationship of the scribes to portray their persona. The symbolic worldview of ancient scribes indicates in the description of the concrete historical situations to the signs of the eternal and Divine. In other situations, however, the publicists note either a grounding source or antagonists of the Divine.
