The article is devoted to the study of the category of quality presented in the writings of one of the great philosophers of Antiquity, Aristotle. Categories have long been the focus of philosophers' attention. Later, due to the differentiation of sciences, categories have become the focus of attention of scientists from other fields. In this regard, the doctrine of categories has acquired an interdisciplinary character, which, accordingly, determines the relevance of this study, since modern science focuses on interdisciplinarity. The doctrine of categories is of particular importance for linguistics, since philosophical categories are reflected in linguistic categories. One of the central categories in philosophy is the category of quality, in addition, the category of quality is one of the most significant categories in human consciousness, and at the same time it is extremely essential for language, since consciousness is inextricably linked with language. The object of this study is the category of quality, the subject is the functioning of the category of quality in Aristotle's philosophy. The purpose of this study is to describe the functioning of the category of quality in the writings of Aristotle. The research material was scientific works in the field of philosophy, as well as the works of Aristotle.
