Presently, the existing chronological gap covering the middle - third quarter of the 1st century has started to be filled up with the so called prsopka type sites. The paper seeks to identify specific components of the emerging Medieval Russia culture based on the analysis of some distinctive features of the Ladoga ceramic assemblage.
