Neolithic ceramic complexes from the site Vengerovo-2 (Baraba forest-steppe)

The article represents preliminary results of statistic, planigraphic and technological analysis of the Neolithic ceramic from the multilayer site Vengerovo-2. Basing on the molding composition and the analysis of ornament there were distinguished three groups of pottery. The first group has morphological and ornamental resemblance to the ceramic of Boborykino culture. The second group has retreating-pricked-gouged pottery which is similar to the ceramic of Artyn culture. And the third group has the ceramic with the comb-pit ornament. There were picked out “mixed” traits in ornament and formulation of the ceramic paste of the second and the third groups. The appearance of the ceramic complexes with “mixed” characteristics testifies the interaction of the population with different pottery traditions (retreating-pricked-gouged and comb-pit).
