Statement of the problem. The practice-oriented approach to training information security specialists is aimed at ensuring that from the first day of work at an enterprise, graduates effectively apply the knowledge acquired at the university, taking into account the specifics of a particular industry. This is one of the important indicators of the quality of education. The need to improve the quality of education requires the use of new methods. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the effectiveness of cyber exercises and cyber training grounds for training information security specialists. The research methodology is based on the comparison of new approaches to teaching. Research results. The article analyzes the effectiveness of methods used to train information security specialists at the Siberian Federal University. Conclusion. The article substantiates the need to use immersive practice-oriented methods for training information security specialists.
