The article is devoted to the peculiarity of the fiction world of V. Shalamov as represented in the cinematograph by A. Tarkovsky. This correlation is examined from different aspects: the meaning of separate verbal and visual images, in ideological paradigmatic opposition to official art, on the level of artistic style, as expression of creative individuality of the author and film director in the process of fundamental existential problems evaluation in ХХ century.
