Film pedagogy in civic-patriotic education of students: theoretical aspect

The article reveals the relevance of the problem, considers key concepts - film pedagogy, civic consciousness, patriotism, civic-patriotic education, pedagogical support. The purpose of our study is to identify the most effective resources of film pedagogy in civic-patriotic education of students. The study used the method of analyzing regulatory documents, domestic and foreign literature, generalizing advanced pedagogical experience in the formation of civic-patriotic qualities of an individual, and the method of systematization. As a toolkit of information technologies in civic-patriotic education of students, it is proposed to use cinematographic works that contribute to the education of students in citizenship and patriotism. Understanding the role of film pedagogy in modern education and upbringing is relevant in two aspects: the high and obvious role of cinema in modern life, the thinking of students develops in an intensive information environment, which requires new methods and means of personality education. Attention is focused on civic-patriotic values. As a methodological basis for the study, system-activity, personality-oriented and integrative approaches are distinguished. When used in combination, these approaches complement and enrich each other, giving the study the necessary rigor and integrity. The need for pedagogical support (the process of interaction between subjects of pedagogical activity aimed at achieving the progress of the student) is noted. Film works that contribute to the formation of patriotic values and the development of civic consciousness are highlighted. We consider it necessary to pay attention to the critical (develops critical and analytical thinking), creative (develops research, analytical, practical, technical skills, self-expression skills) and cultural (helps to understand ourselves, our cultural and national identity, history, culture, ideas and values) aspects of film pedagogy. In conclusion, findings and promising areas for further research are presented.
