В данной статье рассмотрена физиологическая роль недавно открытого нейропептида, кисспептина, занимающего центральное место в регуляции репродуктивной функции у человека и млекопитающих. Обсуждаются особенности структурно-функциональной организации кисспептиновой системы, а также влияние на неё физиологических аспектов активности нейронов супрахиазматического ядра в исследованиях in vitro.
