Chinese idioms (chenyuy) as a component of intercultural competence content

The article analyses the problem of teaching foreign students the Chinese idioms « chenyuy ». Due to the cultural specificity of morphological, semantic and stylistic properties of the Chinese idioms chenyuy, it is proposed for the latter to apply the intercultural competence theory. In the course of the idioms acquisition students form linguistic, sociolinguistic, strategic and other competencies. It is shown how in the course of the idioms chenyuy acquisition students non-speakers of the Chinese language form the skills of intercultural communication (and competency of the “intercultural mediator”).
