Chinese pragmatism and prudence in Taoism

The article deals with pragmatism and prudence of the Chinese in the context of their specific way of thinking in Taoist alchemy. We emphasize that the pragmatic and prudent approach of Taoist adherents to alchemy contributed to enrichment of the methods of pharmaceutical production, and development of the production of traditional Chinese medicine. Countless experiments have established some basic principles of chemistry, developed and improved many experimental methods and works, such as distillation, sublimation, crystallization, filtration and others.
