Classification of hadiths as a subject of research in hadith study

This article examines some issues of studying and classifying hadiths. The author notes that for many centuries various Islamic scholars have attempted to formulate certain ideas about the phenomenon of hadiths and their authenticity. The article analyzes the main problems in the methodology of selecting and classifying hadiths. It substantiates the conclusion that the classification of hadiths is one of the key problems of Islamic science, and scientific ideas about it have no less a history than the science of hadiths itself.
