From the information point of view, the processes for the production, research, evaluation and use of legally significant information are based on activities related to the characteristics of the offense. From a substantive point of view, the latter is obtained through different channels of information likely to serve as evidence in a criminal case or facilitate the production itself, as well as any information relevant to the achievement of the ultimate goals set by the law enforcer activities. The types of considered information are classified on the basis of its system, the speed, the origin of the sources and methods of obtaining: the system information, operational information, evidentiary information, orienting information, supporting information.
