Classification of seal-rings from the ethnographic camp among the Northern Mansi

There is classification of rings and seal-rings of Mansi. It is based on a combination of morphological and technological features. This method of research allows us to clarify the chronology and to determine the range of analogies replicated jewelry fees from ethnographic and archaeological sources. Time of existence of “gifts to the spirits ” was defined as the end of XVIII - the beginning ofthe XX century, all items were made by Russian craftsmen, the ornamentation of the ringssignets is a reflection on instances of an earlier time of manufacture; the décor became more schematic, that indicates the mass production of this type of jewelry for Siberian natives.
