Slander as a criminal offence

The article deals with the new composition of the criminal act infringing on honor, dignity and business reputation. The protection of the honour and dignity of the individual is the primary task of every state governed by the rule of law. Protection of business reputation of legal entities is a guarantee of stability of economic relations in society and the state as a whole. Libel is considered as a criminal act. Analyzed the composition of the crime. The author’s position on gaps in practice of application of this provision of the criminal law is stated.
