Customer bonuses in the remuneration of labour in the services sector

The article considers a problem of tips, which, on the one hand, do exist in the remuneration system in the service sector, specifically, in the catering business, but, on the other hand, the tips are disregarded by official labour economy and management. The author analyzes correlation between the notions of “salary" and “tips" according to various sources. The results of the research reviewing the wage rate of waiters and its components are presented. The author suggests to introduce a new term for designation of tips - the customer bonuses.
