Clinical characteristics of patients with marfans syndrome after cardiac surgery operations

Clinical features of 52 patients with Marfan's syndrome who were operated for mitral or aortic insufficiency; aneurysm or dissection of the ascending aorta has been tested. Postoperative complications in immediate and remote periods have been described. Hospital mortality was 9.6%. Repetitive surgery was carried out in 21.3% cases. Progression of the disease with alteration of the aortic wall in regions not subjected to prosthetics was observed in one third of cases.
