Clinical picture and morpho-functional state of hemopoesis in patients with depression of hemopotiation before and after splenectomy

For the first time, based on the use of modern cytological research methods (computer morphometry of lymphocytes and scanning electron microscopy of peripheral blood cells), it was proved that removal of the spleen in patients with severe AA leads to clinical and hematological compensation of the disease and the transition of a severe degree of the disease to a mild form. Computer morphometry revealed that splenectomy leads to a change in the ratio of lymphocytes: in most AA patients, the proportion of small lymphocytes increases, and the percentage of medium and especially large lymphocytes decreases, which indicates the effectiveness of its use.
