Clinical structure of mental disorders and characteristics of response to educational stress of young people with suicidal behavior in the anamnesis

According to WHO, mental health disorders account for 16% of the global burden of disease and injuries among people aged 10-19 years, and suicide is the third leading cause of death in this age group. This study aimed to develop recommendations on the primary psychoprophylaxis of suicidal behavior based on verification of the medical and psychological characteristics of young people with a history of suicidal behavior. Material and methods: A continuous sample of 724 Russian-speaking students of the Institute of Medicine aged 17-29 (20.6 ± 2.0) years, was examined using medical, sociological and psychometric methods. There were 537 (74.2%) female and 187 (25.8%) male students. Persons with suicidal behavior were examined by the clinical method.
