Clinical and psychological features of patients with panic disorder and co-morbid agoraphobia

The article presents results of investigation of clinical and psychopathological examination of co-morbid panic disorder and agoraphobia. It reflects a transformation of symptoms of panic disorders (panic attacks and attack-free interval) in case panic disorder coexists with agoraphobia. During the investigation we identified personality changes in the main group of patients. They exhibited excessive attention to changes in their physical condition, pessimistic mood, increased sensitivity to external adverse factors, egocentricity, dependence on others, avoidance of the external world and absorption in painful experiences. Experiences of patients had an affective character; they were hostile to others and paranoid.
