Clinical features of craving for alcohol in men and women of old age with alcohol dependence

Comprehensive clinical examination of 462 patients of both sexes with alcohol dependence (ICD-10 F10.2-F10.7) was conducted to reveal features of craving for alcohol in men and women of old age (over 60 years). There were 391 men and 71 women. Two male and two female groups were formed according to the primary visit to addiction specialist before the age of 60 or after 60 years. It was established that craving for alcohol at old age has its own features depending on gender and time of primary visit to the specialist.
