Aim: to study the epidemiological, clinical and laboratory features of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) in patients with concomitant urolithiasis. The study involved 64 patients with PHPT who underwent parathyroidectomy in Chelyabinsk Clinical Hospital № 1 in 2012-2014. We divided our patients into 2 groups. The first group included 18 patients with urolithiasis, and the second group included 46 patients without urinary stones. We analyzed age, sex, laboratory parameters and the morphological variant of excised parathyroid glands. Urolithiasis incidence in PHPT patients was 28.1%. Patients with urolithiasis had higher calcium levels (3.1 vs. 2.57 mmol/l), they were younger (49.5 vs. 55.4 years), and men prevailed among them (male to female ratio - 1 : 5 to 1 : 10.5). Hyperplasia and clear-cell adenoma of parathyroid gland were more frequent in first group (16.7 % versus 10.9 % and 16.7 % vs. 6.5 % respectively). Patients with PHPT combined with urolithiasis are a special group of patients which is characterized by some epidemiological, clinical and biochemical features.
