A clinical case of seminoma in a male pekingese

The paper presents data on the clinical case of the development of seminoma in a male cryptorchid and histological examination of the extracted neoplasm. A seminoma is a one-sided, single neoplasm formed from the germinal epithelium of the vas deferens. This tumor is more invasive at the site of development and is most often a consequence of cryptorchidism. At the stage of embryonic development of puppies, the testes are located in the kidney area and are connected to the scrotum by a ligament. As the dog grows, this ligament shortens and pulls the testicles into the scrotum through the abdominal cavity and inguinal canal. Non-descent of the testicles into the scrotum can lead to a decrease in their reproductive function, tumor degeneration, hormonal disorders and mechanical damage. The data obtained prove that the seminoma has a homogeneous structure, cellular structure, gray color and soft consistency. Histologically, it was possible to detect rounded tumor cells with a small amount of cytoplasm, foci of necrosis and inflammatory infiltrate in the parenchyma of the affected testis.
