Clinical epidemiologic specifics of basal cell carcinoma in Kopeisk urban district

Objective: to specify influence of occupational hazards on high incidence rate of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) in inhabitants of Kopeisk urban district, developed industrial center. In regional dermatovenerologic dispensary № 3 they created registry of patients with BCC considering occupational history. The registry includes 267 people. Patients are divided into5 occupational groups: coal-mining industry workers (56), chemical industry workers (43), metal industry workers (18); workers that do not have occupational hazards (92); office workers (58). Registry analysis shows that groups of patients suffering from occupational hazards are characterized with significantly more frequent multiple BCC (21.9 %; 27.9 %;27.8 %); multiple primary cancer is more frequent in coal-mining (14,6 %) and chemical (16,2 %) industry workers. Patients with BCC living in Kopeisk urban district have multiple lesions of proliferative growth twice as often if they worked in hazardous industry.
