Clinical metabolic and molecular genetic mechanisms of formation of cardiovascular complication in obesity

The concept of the relationship of obesity and cardiovascular disease was formed 60 years ago and this is confirmed in the current epidemiological studies. The literature review describes the various mechanisms of cardiovascular disorders in obesity in terms of genetics, and certain aspects of pathophysiology. Further study of mechanisms of destruction of the cardiovascular system under obesity may be useful in development of approaches to early diagnosis and treatment.
