Clinical-pathobiological regularities of alcoholism and drug addictions formation and pathomorphosis in socially organised populations

With use of methods of analytical epidemiology the factors which influence significantly the state and dynamics of substance use disorders, peculiarity of their prevalence have been revealed. Clinical-psychological and pathobiological interrelationships in substance dependence in adolescents under penitentiary conditions have been studied. In alcoholic patients with delinquent behavior significant changes of hormonal profile have been revealed. Based on pathophysiological markers, models that allow predicting with high accuracy the likelihood of relapse of drug dependence after coerced abstinence as well as risk of episodic drug use by adolescents and youth have been developed. The ability of antioxidant carnosine to decrease the oxidative modification of proteins and lipids of blood plasma induced by ethanol and acetaldehyde has been investigated. The dynamics of narcological situation among students that is characterised by increasing role of psychoactive substances as a source of pleasure, mean against boredom and way of escape from life difficulties or maladaptive stress response have been identified that requires the updating of preventive psychotherapeutic programs, combined prevention of addictive and affective disorders.
