The clinical and psychological characteristics of children with mental retardation as the basis of correctional work in specialized educational institutions

The article presents an analysis of clinical and psychological peculiarities of the development of children with retarded type of dysontogenesis. Specifics of regulatory disorders are traced at different types of mental retardation. The effective direction of correctional work with senior pre-school children of the given category in the light of formation of self-regulation in the educational-cognitive activity is defined.
