China’s Key Interests in Promoting the Digital Economy in the SCO

This article examines China’s key plans for developing the digital economy within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, focusing on the importance of cooperation among SCO member states in the digital economy. The study primarily addresses three aspects: geopolitics, economic growth, and security governance. The article also outlines the practical challenges arising in the cooperation process and proposes solutions, such as improving digital infrastructure, simplifying the regulatory system, and training digital talent. The article argues that China’s digital economy development contributes to its own strategic goals and promotes the digital transformation of regional economies and economic integration, elevating SCO digital economy projects to a qualitatively new level.
