The article analyzes the dynamics of production indicators of fruit and berry products, the provision of the population with fruit, the volume of imports of fruit and berries, identified problems of fruit growing in Russia. The special importance of fruit and berries is contained in the vitamins needed to maintain health and working capacity of the person. Currently, gardening does not meet the needs of the population in fruit and berry products. So, in the Russian Federation one person should consume at least 90-100 kg of fruit and berry products per year, but in fact, it is 50-60 kg of fruit and berries per person per year. The countries - suppliers of fruit and berries are Turkey, Spain, Moldova, Poland and China. Therefore, the further development of this agricultural sector in our country is of great importance. With proper organization of the production process, fruit growing can become a highly profitable business, but for a long time this direction in our country was in a crisis. Adopted in 2014 by the Government of the Russian Federation, the program of import substitution in agriculture and the subsequent introduction of new subsidies and other types of support for agricultural producers have become an incentive for the development of many agricultural sectors, including fruit growing, the situation can be changed not only by expanding the areas of laying new gardens, but also by using modern technologies in them, allowing to increase the volume of harvested crops significantly. Many domestic agricultural enterprises develop the production of fruit and berry products independently, establishing their own gardens and applying the latest technologies.
