“The book should - and will - sound loud all over Europe...”: M. Gorky and “bolshevtsy”

The article presents the history of the conception, creation and editing of the book “Bolshevtsy: Essays on the history of Bolshevskaya named after G.G. Yagoda of the NKVD labor commune”. M. Gorky was sure of great importance to this book, he selected writers, advised the authors, corrected their manuscripts and met with members of the Bolshevo commune. The article introduces into scientific circulation previously unknown materials from the A.M. Gorky Archive, Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, State Archive of the Russian Federation.
